Airtel-Tata merger: Bharti Airtel has confirmed that it’s in talks with the Tata Group to discover a deal to merge Tata Play’s direct-to-home (DTH) enterprise with its subsidiary Bharti Telemedia Ltd.
“We want to submit that Bharti Airtel Restricted (‘Airtel’) and TATA Group are in bilateral discussions to discover a possible transaction to realize a mix of TATA Group’s Direct To Dwelling (‘DTH’) enterprise housed below Tata Play Restricted, with Bharti Telemedia Restricted, a subsidiary of Airtel, in a construction acceptable to all events.
